Mare & Sash’s Macedonian wedding was an all-day celebration! Starting early at their respective house’s right through to the glorious reception at Luxor Receptions, the celebrating just didnt let up! We started as the first band was setting up and stayed well after the lights dimmed, to capture their special day!
From the moment we got there, bands were playing, friends and family were greeted with music and dancing in the driveway, followed by offers of food and drink to ensure that the celebratory mood was in full swing.
As the celebrations continued, Bride and Groom had to balance spending time with their guests with actually getting ready for their big day. Of course lots of the preparations involved much of the family and friends so it wasn’t too hard!
Mare’s bridesmaids were on hand all day, but Mare was so relaxed and radiant, nothing seemed to be phazing her – She just wanted to get to dancing!
Meanwhile Sash and the groomsmen were also getting ready, amongst the dancing and drinking! Then it was off to the church! Three bright red 57′ Chevs would ensure both he and his bride would arrive to the church in style!
Mare’s preparations were complete also; she made her entrance to the rest of the family, gifts were given and finally there was plenty of time for dancing whilst waiting for the boys to arrive to escort her to the church. The sun had now come out and bathed the driveway in glorious sunshine!
St Ilija Macedonian Orthodox Church in Footscray played host to the ceremony – a lively and cheerful celebration involving all friends and family. Afterwards, all attendees were invited to head to Footscray City Council for family and group portraits, led by the newly weds in their eye-candy transport!
The 57 Chevs were the taken for a leisurely cruise to South Melbourne for some photography in and around the iconic South Melbourne Town Hall and the wonderful buildings in its surrounds.
Whilst in the area, a gorgeous resident invited us into their house, and gratiously allowed us to take a few frames in the stunning light that was streaming through the house. Sometimes it never ceases to amaze me where I can end up on a photoshoot!
As the light began to sink lower into the sky, we decided to head past Station Pier in Port Melbourne. Mare had wanted to some ‘water shots’ and we had just enough time to squeeze in a few more photos before we had to head to Luxor Receptions for the reception.
Luxor Receptions was an amazing venue to cap off Mare & Sash’s amazing wedding. Their first dance together as husband and wife in what appeared to be a sea of smoke was stunning, and suitably a whole host of camera flash’s were going off, imitating a major sports event! Dancing was a major event of the night and the band ensured that everyone was up, on the dancefloor with their dance shoes getting lots of use!
